Fire fighter. Police officer. Doctor. Lawyer. Politician. Soldier. Sailor. Professional Athlete. Carpenter. Plumber. Rock star. Hero. And so forth. All of these were traditional male archetype. But none of them require a male. So, I got to thinking. What male archetypes only have meaning in terms of its maleness? Well, I thought, "frat boy" is such a male archetype. But when I think of it, it is only the "boy" part that makes it exclusively male. Because there are such female characters in some sororities, right? Maybe? I don't know. But if I am right, then it is only a rose by another name. What about bachelor? Maybe? I am not sure. But there is one male archetype that makes little sense in applying to females. And that male archetype is that of the sissy. Would there be any meaning in calling a woman, beyond irony, a sissy? What would you be saying about a woman if you said she was a sissy? Nothing really. "You are a woman who acts like a woman!" Calling a woman a sissy is basically meaningless. So, sissy is one of the few male archetypes, and possibly the only male archetype, that requires maleness to truly fulfill. So, what do you all think? Any help appreciated. Thanks! I didn't find the right solution from the Internet. reference: poetrycircle.com/forum/threads/4545454Paas Video
